Love Maille, a collection of hand-knitted layette, to give back confidence to women in difficulty
The concept
"Love maille" is a story of encounters, transmission and solidarity! In connection with the We Act For Kids Action Fund, Jacadi has had a partnership with the Amitié partage association in Roubaix for 6 years.
The action
Since 2014, thanks to this workshop, some fifty women have been able to regain their self-confidence in order to find a job or training leading to a qualification, by hand-knitting unique pieces of high quality.
Each year, Jacadi designs a mini collection of knitwear dedicated to toddlers from 3 to 6 months. A dozen or so women on integration projects get together to knit and work on their professional project. Jacadi's stylists and pattern makers come to discuss and share with the knitters about the collection. Fonty, a French spinning mill, offers soft and natural merino wool.
The impact
Each year €11,000 is donated to the Amitié Partage association, i.e. all the profits from sales and a supplement donated by the We Act For Kids Action Fund.
Since 2014, about 70 women have participated in the knitting and insertion workshop and 50% of them have found a job or a qualification.
