Access to school for children in Madagascar's slums

The concept

Kozama, one of the partners of theNGO ATIA/Interaide, is a Malagasy association that takes care of nursery classes in public schools in the districts of TANA. The classes have 25 to 30 pupils, aged 3 to 5 years. The classes are taught by KOZOMA educators, 4 times a week. The aim is to provide an educational system for children from the slums, and to give them the chance to learn.

The action

Since 2010, the WE ACT FOR KIDS Action Fund, in partnership with ATIA/Interaide, has been working for the poorest families in Antananarivo, Madagascar. It supports education for children in the slums. The We Act For Kids Action Fund co-finances 14 nursery schools each year.

The impact

Thanks to the co-financing of the WE ACT FOR KIDS Action Fund, in the 14 nursery schools of Antananarivo, 2,300 children in precarious situations are being prepared to enter primary school.
